The exterior shots initially took place at number 64 before moving to number 66 Perry Street for the third season, all thanks to its supposedly “more glamorous” staircase.

In today’s market, the estimated price to buy this Manhattan gem is around a staggering $15,020,300. 

For those considering a more affordable option, renting this luxurious Brownstone in 2021 would set you back approximately $21,451 per month.

Comparing this to the $700 monthly rent Carrie paid in the show reveals the stark difference between fiction and reality. 

The actual brownstone at 64 Perry Street is a lavish residence spanning 4,000 square feet across five floors. It boasts five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a spacious south-facing backyard. 

Built in 1866 by architect Robert Mook, the interior is adorned with original herringbone wood floors, crystal chandeliers, ornate crown moldings, high ceilings, arches, and six fireplaces grace the space.

The house was last sold in 2012 for an impressive $9.85 million, exceeding the asking price by $200,000. Since then, only two other families have resided at Carrie Bradshaw’s famous address.

Adjacent to Carrie’s dwelling, the neighboring townhouse at 66 Perry Street, used in the show from season 3 onwards, features three rental units. 

The front stairs of both 64 and 66 Perry Street have become famous landmarks in New York City, standing alongside iconic sites like the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.

Back in November 2021, as part of a fun promotion for the Sex and The City sequel And Just Like That, they briefly listed Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment on Airbnb for just $23 per night – but it was a short-term offer. 

Only two lucky fans got to stay for one night each, and they were even greeted by Sarah Jessica Parker herself.

Sarah Jessica Parker shared her excitement about revisiting the world of Carrie Bradshaw and mentioned how it was a joy for her. 

She expressed eagerness for the audience to experience Carrie’s New York uniquely.

Usually, you can’t rent the apartment through Airbnb, but sometimes Airbnb partners with filmmakers for special promotions like this. 

For instance, they did the same with the Home Alone house in 2021, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air house during the reunion episode in 2020, and the Hocus Pocus house for the 2022 sequel, which also featured Sarah Jessica Parker.
