St Michaels’s Mount Swim

5th August

How about joining the crowds cheering on the swimmers this August on Marazion beach.
This annual open-water swim around the Mount is in aid of the Chestnut Appeal a charity raising awareness of prostate cancer.
Each year the competitors swim the one and a half mile around the island and return to the beach for a well earned pasty.

Broadmasters

9th – 13th August

This annual event is one of the festival highlights of the summer combining surfing with a massive line-up of acts all at a stunning coastal location. This year the headliners are Jamiroquai, The Vaccines and Alt-J.
There will be prosurfing competitions, yoga sessions, skating and BMX as well as food stalls. So bring your own tent or camper van, flip-flops on and kick back for the weekend.

Tregony Heavy Horse and Country Show

This wonderful traditional show has something for everyone and is a real fun family day out. Food and craft stalls, dog shows and pony competitions as well as seeing the magnificent shires in action.

Cornwall Folk Festival

24th- 28th August

Over the Bank Holiday weekend Wadebridge’s streets and pubs will see an invasion of folk artists. Groups from other Celtic nations as well as the best of Cornwall’s talent can be seen in the fringe tent. The town’s main street becomes Shanty Street bursting with local legends and rising stars, workshops and craft stalls.

Newlyn Fish Festival

27th – 28th August
For the 28th year the lovely harbour town of Newlyn will be hosting this festival in honour of the county’s fishing heritage. Fish fans can sample the latest catch or watch the cookery demonstrations.
There will be plenty of activity on the water and live music, trawler racing, a lifeboat display and craft stalls. Then why not pick up something for our supper at the live fish auction.
Hope that gives you some inspiration!
